Weekend Recap

Finally, a real Spring weekend! The weather was so gorgeous this weekend, it's about time! Everything is coming alive. Even our chives made it through the Winter and are thriving! I had to water them this weekend.

On Friday I was off of work. I had a nice and relaxing day. It was rainy and gloomy out so I just got some things done around the house, unpacked from DC and relaxed. Friday night we just stayed in, cooked some dinner and watched the Blackhawks beat Detroit.

Saturday we got up and went to breakfast and then headed out to Schaumburg to do some shopping. We needed to go to Whole Foods for some groceries and Bed, Bath and Beyond to pick up a few things for the house. We also did some clothes shopping for Michael. He's had a gift card from my parents from Christmas that he hadn't used yet. He got some polos, a couple pairs of shorts and a pair of swim trunks for our Florida vacation. After running around we came home had some lunch and relaxed for a bit. It was beautiful out. Porkchop was loving life!

Michael worked on getting our grill all ready for summer. He cleaned the whole thing out. We need some new grates and burners so we ordered those and he will put it all back together next weekend. It will be like a brand new grill!

Later in the afternoon, I had a hair appointment. I got my hair chopped for Summer. I cut about 5 inches off, I love it!

Saturday night we stayed in and Michael made us a really yummy dinner. He re-made our steak and shrimp tepanyaki dinner from our cooking class last summer. It was really good. We had potstickers for an appetizer, steak, shrimp and some fried rice.

Saturday night we went over to Rich and Tif's for awhile to see Baby Jacob and just hang out. We caught up on all the latest happenings and watched Jacob crawl and climb all over everything. He is getting so big! I didn't get any pictures unfortunately.

Today we got up and I made us some breakfast. We headed to Costco at opening so we didn't have to deal with the craziness later in the day. We stocked up quick and we were in and out of there. We had to make sure we were home in time for the Blackhawks game. All they had to do was tie or win to seal their playoff bid. Unfortunately, they lost. We were pretty bummed.

We decided to go see a movie in the afternoon. We went and saw Hop, the new animated Easter movie.

It was okay, I was expecting more. It was from the same people who made Despicable Me, which we loved. Oh well, it was still pretty cute.

After the movie we came home to watch the score of the Dallas/Minnesota hockey game. If Minnesota beat Dallas, the Blackhawks would still get into the playoffs. Luckily for our sakes Minnesota beat Dallas 5-3 and the Hawks are officially in the playoffs! Our quest to re-claim the cup has begun!

Tonight we are just relaxing and enjoying the rest of our Sunday. We both have busy weeks ahead with work. We have a really fun weekend planned next weekend though so hopefully it goes by fast. Have a great week everyone!
