Weekend Recap

We had such a great weekend, even though I'm writing this post from San Francisco and miss my husby. Friday was such a fun day. We got to see our baby at a our 12 week ultrasound. We had a first trimester screening where they take some important measurements to determine your risk for downs and other issues plus they take blood to test for chromosomal abnormalities. The baby wasn't cooperating real well so we had a nice long ultrasound. It was so much fun seeing our little baby bounce around and wave at us. All of our measurements came back perfect so we just have to wait for the blood test to come back next week. And we got to leave with another picture of our little guy or girl too!

After our appointment it was back to work the rest of the day. After work we headed over to Rich and Tif's. When we pulled up they were outside decorating the house for Halloween. We all got in on the act and helped put spider webs in bushes, it was fun. It looks really cool too.

Jacob woke up from his nap while we were decorating and they brought him out to check out all of the decorations. He loved it! Well that is excepted for the inflatable haunted house, that he wasn't too sure of.

Afterwards we went and grabbed some dinner and we headed back and hung out back at Rich and Tif's. We hung out for a while, we had fun playing with Jacob and I got some Makayla time in even though she wasn't very happy. We headed home around 10 and crashed.

Saturday we got up and went to breakfast. After breakfast Michael headed to Cabela's and I went to get a manicure/pedicure. I haven't had a pedicure since Labor Day weekend so I was definitely overdue.

Michael and I met back at the house and it was time to carve our pumpkins! We had 4 pumpkins to carve this year, mine, Michael's, Porkchop's and baby Dworianyn's! Michael did a cute Pooh Bear, I did a Better Homes and Garden template spelling out, "Trick or Treat," Porkchop's pumpkin was a Boston Terrier and Baby Dworianyn's has it's due date 5-10-12 on it. We had a lot of fun. It's pretty cool to think that this time next year we'll have a 6 month old!

And lit up at night!

Saturday night we just relaxed and took it easy since I had to get up at 4:30 am Sunday morning to fly to San Francisco.

Today I got up very early, got ready and we were off to O'Hare. I had a 7 am flight out of Chicago to San Francisco for a work conference. My flight was great, smooth sailing all the way. Once I got to my hotel I checked in and got something to eat. I went back to the hotel and took a little nap since I had to get up so early. After my nap I headed down to the conference area to meet my boss and set-up our booth display. Everything went up pretty quickly and looked good.

Tonight we have a dinner at Roy's with some clients and then tomorrow we are hosting a reception so it's going to be a busy couple of days. I come home on Wednesday night so hopefully this week goes by fast. I hope all of you had a great weekend and have a fun Halloween tomorrow!

Birthday Weekend Recap

We had a great weekend, plus it was my birthday! On Friday after work we headed over to Rich and Tif's to watch Jacob and Makayla for a little while since Rich and Tif were out car shopping. After they got back we all headed out to dinner. Michael's parents joined us as well. We had a nice dinner and then headed over to Rich and Tif's after dinner just to hang out.

On Saturday, Michael went with Rich to help him with car shopping and I headed out to Schaumburg to do some fun shopping for myself. I picked up a few fun things and then I met up with Michael to get some lunch. After lunch we headed down to my sister and Teddy's house to celebrate our birthdays with my parents. Arla and my mom were out shopping so I got lots of Baby Lily time in. She was so cute and sleeping so peacefully.

When Arla and my Mom got home we all just hung out and passed Lily around like a hot potato. She didn't seem to mind though, she slept right through it. Apparently Mom was feeling sleepy too because she joined Lily in her nap!

For dinner, we ordered yummy Italian food from Clara's. After dinner we had cake and opened presents. We hadn't celebrated Michael's birthday which was a month ago so Arla, Michael and I all had gifts to open. I got a great new lens for my camera that I'm really excited about and I also got an Old Navy gift card to buy some maternity clothes. We were all falling asleep and the new parents especially needed to get a nap in so we packed up and headed home.

Sunday, we got up and headed to breakfast. Michael surprised me with a few gifts even though he bought me a car for my birthday. He got me a really cute Mickey and Minnie pumpkin decoration and then he got me 7 birthday cards with gift cards to some of my favorite places to shop inside. He's so good to me!

After breakfast we headed over to Rich and Tif's. We were baby-sitting Jacob and Makayla for them while they headed downtown for Tif's brother's college graduation. The kids were great. We watched Despicable Me with Jacob and he was glued to it the entire time. He just sat on Uncle Michael's lap and watched.

Makayla was a perfect angel too. She pretty much was eating or sleeping the entire time. We had a lot of fun with them. Rich and Tif got home in the early afternoon and we just watched football for a while and hung out. Ken got me some delicious cupcakes for my birthday and everyone sang Happy Birthday to me, it was really nice. We left around 5 and headed home.

All in all it was a great weekend. I still can't believe that I'm 29 and that I'll be 30 in a year but I really think that 29 is going to be one of my best years I've ever had! I hope all of you had a great weekend.

29

I turned 29 today. I remember being a kid and thinking that 30 was "so old." And here I am just a year from the 30 milestone. But from where I sit 30 doesn't seem so scary. I couldn't imagine being any happier in my life. I have a wonderful husband, great family a good job and in just 7 months we will meet our baby for the first time. Yeah, 29 is looking pretty good. I mean it's not like I'm 39, now that's old! Just kidding!

I also have to say happy birthday to my sister Arla who shares this birthday with me. She got her birthday present early this year, in the form of baby Lily!

Baby Dworianyn Bump Watch: 11 weeks

How far along? 11 weeks, 3 days
Size of the baby? A lime, 1.6 inches, .25 oz
Maternity clothes? Not yet, I think it will be a while since all my pants are loose. I have started buying a few shirts to wear though.
Weight gain? Still losing, I'm down 22 pounds.
Gender? We will hopefully be finding out on November 23. Most people are saying girl but there are a few in the boy camp as well. We just want a healthy baby.
Movement? No movement but it feels like this kid is elbowing me for more room. Lots of streching pains this week. He/she is going to double in size this week so I think it's only going to increase.
Sleep? I've been sleeping much better this week. I think it's because I've been working so hard I just hit the pillow and I'm out.
Food Cravings? I am loving Potbelly sandwiches this week. I think I've had them 3 times, oops!
What I miss? My energy and my memory.
Symptoms? Exhausted, hungry and cranky; it's a nasty combination, just ask Michael!
Best moment of the week? Sleeping in until 9 on Sunday, it was fabulous!

Weekend Recap

Whew, we had a crazy weekend! Friday after work we headed over to Rich and Tif's. We went out to dinner at Famous Dave's and then went back to their house to hang out and play with the kids. Jacob kept us very entertained as usual. Before Makayla arrived Tif brought out some of Jacob's baby things to use for her and one of those things was his old bouncy seat. Ever since she brought it out he loves to climb in it and either sit it in it or bounce like a monkey. Well Friday he decided to bounce like a monkey. He was having a blast bouncing around, it was hilarious!

While we were at Rich and Tif's my Mom called me to tell me that Arla wasn't doing very well and that they were going ahead with a c-section. She had been in the hospital since Thursday afternoon and Lily wasn't coming on her own. Michael and I decided to head into the city to make sure everything was okay. Baby Lily arrived at 11:52 pm.

We were so happy that Baby Lily was here and she was perfect. We were also very relieved that Arla was out of surgery and doing really well. We left the hospital and got home around 4 am on Saturday. Michael and I crashed pretty hard and slept till about 11:30. We finally peeled ourselves out of bed, got ready and headed out to get some lunch. After lunch we headed back downtown to see Arla, Teddy and Lily of course! I finally got to take some pictures and I got to hold her for a long while. She was really peaceful all wrapped up in her little blanket burrito. I think she's going to be a really good baby for Arla and Teddy.

She also has one of the best rooms in the hospital with the best view of Lake Michigan!

We stayed for a few hours and then headed home. We were both pretty tired still from the night before so we came home and both fell asleep on the couch around 8. We slept really well, about 12 hours. We woke up and just relaxed in the morning before doing a few things around the house. Around noon we headed over to Rich and Tif's to watch some football. We hung out with Rich, Tif, Ken and Liz stopped over with Lauren too. We had fun just watching some football and talking. I also got lots of Makayla time in. She slept on me for about 3 hours. She's such a good baby.

After football we just came home, had some dinner and watched the Bears game. It was such a great weekend. I still can't believe that Lily is here! I was so worried that I would miss her arrival because her due date was originally when I was scheduled to be out of town for work. But now she's here 3 weeks early, she got an October birthday, and I got to be there when she came into this world. I'm already counting down the days for when I get to see her again, only 5 more! Have a great week everyone!
