Ethan's World: 1 Month Review

I can't believe I'm writing this post already, our little prince is already a month old! It really does go by too fast just like everyone said it would.

Ethan, you have stolen mine and Daddy's hearts and it's hard to imagine what life was like before you came along. You have made the transition so easy for us, I can't believe how good of a baby you are. I love being your mommy and can't believe how much love I feel every time I look at you. I just love watching the little faces you make when you sleep, your full grin gassy smiles and all of the crazy things you do with your arms and legs! I can't believe how much you've changed in just a month's time. Daddy and I just can't wait to watch you grow and see what you are doing next month!

Weight:
As of today you weigh 10 pounds 14 oz, the 74th percentile. Holy cow, you are a big boy, but you wouldn't guess by looking at you since you are so long and lean.

Height:
As of today you are 24 inches long, the 95th percentile!

Clothing Size:
You are still in newborn clothes which I still can't believe. I'm guessing you will be moving into 0-3 months in the next week or two.

Diapers:
You are still in newborn diapers but will be transitioning into size 1's in the next couple of weeks

Feeding:
You're eating 6 times a day and 4 oz at each feeding, you're a growing boy! Breastfeeding didn't work out very well so you are eating Similac sensitive formula, which you are doing great on.

Hair/Eyes:
You're still holding on to most of that hair that you were born with. I think it might be getting a little lighter too. You're eyes are getting lighter too, I think you're going to have dark hair like Mommy with blue eyes like Daddy!

Sleep:
You are a great sleeper, you've slept in 3-4 hour stretches from the moment we brought you home from the hospital. And ever since you hit 4 weeks you've been sleeping between 6 - 8 hours a night! We'll see if it stays that way. We're not on a strict schedule at this point but we keep feedings and naps pretty much within a half hour or so every day to start creating some consistency.

Fun Stuff You Did This Month:

Rolling Over
You surprised the heck out of me, Daddy and the Baby Nurse at the pediatrician's office when you rolled over on the doctor's examination table at 4 days old! We thought it was a total fluke until we tried putting you on your tummy again and you rolled right over. Apparently you dislike being on your tummy so much that you figured out how to roll over. You don't roll over every time, but as soon as we put you on your tummy, your little feet and legs start moving like crazy to try and propel yourself over. I think you were practicing when you were inside Mommy because those kicks look very familiar!

First Bath
We finally were able to give you your first bath after the doctor had to remove the rest of your umbilical cord because it wasn't all coming off on its own. You weren't too sure of the bath at first but really started to like it after a while. Since then you love your bath, you just sit and watch me the whole time.

Walking
One of our favorite things to do is go for walks. You love your stroller and have spent a lot of time in it since the weather has been so nice. Whether we are walking around the neighborhood, the mall or the farmer's market you just love to be moving!
