Family Favorite Recipe: Grilled Pizza

We love to grill and pizza is no exception. We have this great grilled pizza pan that elevates the pizza off the grill so there is air circulated around the whole pizza. We put the heat really high to get a really crispy crust. The pizza cooks quick, 8-10 minutes and it is so good.

We use a quick and easy pizza dough recipe for our pizzas. This recipe makes either 2 thin crust pizzas or 1 pan style pizza. Definitely make your own dough, it's worth it!

Pizza Dough Recipe Ingredients
1 package active dry yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 cup warm water
2 1/2 cups bread flour
2 tbsp olive oil (I used garlic/basil olive oil to give the dough more flavor)
1 tsp salt

Directions
1. Preheat grill to 450 degrees
2. In a medium bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
3. Stir in flour, salt and oil, beat until smooth. Let stand for 5 minutes.
4. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat or roll into a round pizza crust. Transfer crust to a lightly greased pizza pan dusted with cornmeal. Spread with desired toppings and put on grill for 8 - 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Let baked pizza cool for 5 minutes before serving.
5. Enjoy!
