Milwaukee Zoo

On Friday we made a day trip up to the Milwaukee Zoo. We went with Tif, Jacob, Makayla and her parents. None of us had been there before but I had heard it was a really good zoo from reviews online. They have some animals that they don't have at the Chicago area zoos. I really liked the zoo, the exhibits were really neat and I felt like you got a lot closer to the animals there. I will definitely go back when Ethan gets a little older. Here are a bunch of pictures from the day.

Weekend Recap

We had a pretty low key weekend so this will be pretty short. On Friday we went up to Milwaukee for the day to go to the zoo. I'm going to do a full post tomorrow with lots of pictures.

We had to leave the zoo early in the afternoon because Michael had to get back to work and we had an hour and a half drive home. Friday night we went over to Michael's parents house for pizza and to just hang out.

On Saturday we got up early and went to breakfast. After breakfast we headed home and Ethan and I just relaxed and played. Michael was busy working on a new website for his business so he spent a lot of the day  in his office. Ethan and I read books and he even tried out his new bumbo type seat. He is holding his head up so well. My little boy is getting so big, it's so exciting to see him hit all of these milestones!

Mmm...these hands taste good!

Saturday night we went out to dinner with Rich and the kids since Tif was out for the night. After dinner we headed back to their house to play with the kids and watch some Olympics. We headed home when it was bedtime for all of the kids.

On Sunday we had some breakfast, watched some Olympics and then headed to Whole Foods to do some grocery shopping. When we got home we finished hanging everything in our newly painted kitchen and bathroom. It looks so nice, I love the change.  I will be posting a full reveal this week!

Sunday night Michael made a seafood boil for Sunday dinner. We also had a very cute centerpiece join us at the dinner table!

We spent the rest of the night watching lots of Olympics. I am starting my last week of maternity leave so I'm going to soak every last second in of this time with my little man. I hope all of you had a great weekend as well!

Summer Olympics 2012

I'm so excited the 2012 Summer Olympics are starting today! I've always been a big fan of watching the Olympics ever since I was little. The last Summer Olympics were amazing especially with Michael Phelps in the pool, I hope he kicks Ryan Lochte's butt! My favorite events of the Summer Olympics are gymnastics, swimming, diving, and beach volleyball. Go USA!

NBC has a full schedule of events here.

I'm also going to be following all of the events on this app for my phone.

Review: Kraft Fresh Takes

I heard about these new Kraft Fresh Take kits from one of my blog readers, Lindsey. She raved about them so when we were grocery shopping last week and they were on sale we thought we would give them a try. I'm usually not the biggest fan of prepared food, but I was surprised to see that these aren't high in sodium and are low in calories.

We tried the cheddar jack and bacon variety. It was really easy to put together. You mix the cheese and breadcrumb mixture together and then put your chicken in the bag, coat it and then put on a baking pan. The chicken was really good. The chicken was crispy on the outside and super moist inside. We will definitely try the other varieties. For a quick weeknight dinner, these make throwing your meal together so easy.
