Weekend Recap

We had a weekend filled with celebration. On Friday I met up with my sister and Lily at the Morton Arboretum for a hike and then to take the kids to the children's garden. It was a beautiful morning and the perfect day for lots of walking. The kids had a lot of fun as always.

Friday night we made some dinner and just relaxed.

On Saturday we got up and went to breakfast and then headed to the park to tire Ethan out before his nap. It started to rain a little bit, but Ethan didn't mind, he just wanted to keep swinging!

After the park we headed home so Ethan could take a nap before we went to Makayla's 2nd birthday party! Makayla had a super cute Minnie Mouse theme party. Everything looked so cute. The food and all of the treats on the sweets table were delicious! I can't believe Makayla is already 2. These kids need to stop growing up so fast.

The birthday girl!

Welcome to my party!

Love her cake, it was delicious too!

During presents and cake you could find Ethan manning Jacob's train table. This little boy is in love with trains. I think I'm going to have to make a call into Santa to get started on a train table for this train loving boy!

After cake we stayed a little longer but Ethan was so overdue for a nap so we had to leave. After his nap we went to Toys R Us to pick up a few things I needed for Ethan. We happened to go by the train section and Daddy had Ethan pick out his first Thomas train. He was so excited and held it the whole way home. He played with them all night before he went to bed.

On Sunday we got up and we were so excited for our first football Sunday of the season. I got Ethan all dressed up in his Bears gear and he looked so cute!

We headed to the grocery store to stock up for the week and then headed to the park. We threw around a football and Ethan was loving it. He would bring the ball to Michael or I, it was so cute.

Bears training camp 2034?!

Bringing his Daddy the football, so sweet!

Then it was time for football! The Bears won which was great. We had relaxing afternoon watching the games and obsessing over fantasy football. When Ethan woke up from his nap we went back to the park just to enjoy the weather and get some more exercise. After the park we came home and Michael made us a delicious Sunday dinner. He made a seafood feast of crab and lemon butter shrimp. It was delicious!

I hope all of you had a great weekend as well. I have a really busy week with work this week so posting may be light. There will be a new Fall craft on Friday though so stay tuned!
