Sofia's World: 5 Months

5 months little girl! I can't believe you are one month away from being half a year old! You are so much fun these days. You just have the happiest disposition and are always full of smiles. You light up at anyone who smiles at you. You are giggling and laughing a lot more now too. You are so ticklish and I tickle you so I can here that adorable giggle! You are such a talker. You babble like crazy! You are starting to try and make consonant sounds now too. The other night you were trying so hard to say "Mama." Dado and I couldn't believe it. You are drooling like crazy and put anything and everything in your mouth, but you love your hands and fingers best. You are sitting up really well and get more stable each day. You love to roll over from back to front, but still haven't gone stomach to back yet. You almost always sleep on your side and sometimes on your tummy so I'm guessing you will figure out that way of rolling over very soon. Sofia, Daddy and I love you so much. You are such a joy and just the happiest baby. We are so blessed and thankful to have you here. We love watching you grow and change every day, just try not to do it too fast okay?

Weight:

At your four month appointment you were 13lbs 6oz and only in the 31%! I am going to guess you are around 15 pounds now, but we won't find out until mid April.

Height:
At your four month appointment you were 27" long and off the charts in height! I am going to guess you are around 28" now, but again, we won't find out until your 6 month appointment.

Clothing Size:
You definitely had a growth spurt and you've moved on to 6 and 9 months in clothes.

Diapers:
You are in size 2 diapers and they are still fitting you well.

Feeding:
You're eating 5 times a day and 6 oz at each feeding. You finally started drinking 6 oz. At your 4 month appointment your doctor said that you would start drinking more soon because there was no way you could sustain your growth and boy he was right. Literally a week later you went from 20 oz a day to sucking down 30 oz a day!

Hair/Eyes:
Your hair is definitely blonde and it's really starting to grow in now. You still have beautiful blue eyes like Daddy!

Sleep:

Your 4th month of sleep was the roughest since you've been born. On top of the dreaded 4 month sleep regression, you were also sick for 2 weeks. You were congested in your head and chest so you were having trouble breathing and I felt so bad for you. There were definitely a few rough nights but I'm happy to report that you are back to sleeping well and most nights you nap from 6:30 - 9 and then have a bottle and go back to sleep until 5 or 6 in the morning. Once in a while you need a paci put back in but that should be coming to an end because you are no longer in your swaddle! We finally got you weaned off of your swaddle and you are doing great without it. So hopefully soon you'll be able to put that paci back in your own mouth! Wow, I'm just realizing how many changes you had with your sleep this month! You are still taking 3 - 4 naps depending on the day. 

Fun Stuff You Did This Month:

First Valentine's Day

We celebrated your first Valentine's Day this month! You were the cutest cupid ever in your monthly photo and you loved all your fun goodies you got in your Valentine's bucket. Your favorite things have been the links and your Anna doll.

Jumpy Jump

You are definitely more active so I started putting you in your jumpy jump and daycare has been putting you in one as well. You love it! You love bouncing up and down and are all smiles!

First taste of food

I have a full blog post about this coming soon, but we gave you your first taste of food this weekend. We gave you peaches and you definitely weren't too sure about the whole thing. You made some really funny faces! You seemed to like it a little bit more, the more we gave you. I'm positive you will be eating a whole lot more by your next update!
